Randeep Surjewala, Congress spokesperson, has alleged a recruitment scam in Haryana, in which various posts offered through HPSC (Haryana Public Service Commission) are obtainable by paying bribes to the tune of lakhs and crores.

On behalf of the youth of the state, Surjewala said that CM Manohar Lal Khattar should answer the seven points that he is raising.

Some experts from his press conference are given below:

  1. He said that the HPSC has been turned into the “Haryana Post Sales Counter” which means that any position can be obtained by paying the appropriate bribe. He alleged that bribes worth ₹20, 25 lakhs and ₹1 crore can buy posts like dental surgeon and naib tehsildaar. “It is clear that the rates for every recruitment are now fixed in Haryana”. He said that he is alleging all this on the basis of what the Deputy Secretary of HPSC has said “after being caught”.

  2. He cited irregularities in recruitment in Haryana Board and HPSC which cannot happen without backing of “someone big”.

  3. The Khattar government, in the name of reform, has privatized the examinations for both the commissions. Private companies are setting papers and managing the centres.

  4. These companies are outside the purview of public accountability in any form, all the way from evaluating papers to deciding on contested answer keys. Even if there is any opposition or controversy, one company is blacklisted and it simply starts operating under another name. Therefore, the future of the youth of the state is being decided by private job contractors, said Surjewala, which begs the question why the Khattar government is needed at all.
