As lockdown has brought daily life to a standstill, the proletariat is facing the most hardship. Domestic helpers are struggling to meet ends as they can no longer work due to lockdown.

“It is a very difficult time. We are finding it difficult to even feed our children,” said a domestic helper. “We are stuck due to lockdown, don’t have enough money to live,” said another worker.

While they have no option of earning more by working extra, they do not have enough money to stock supplies.
