The Prime Minister announced the repeal of the three ‘black’ farming laws today in his address to the nation in the morning, and put it down to the failure of his government to successfully explain the laws to the farmers and how it would benefit them as he apologized.

However, he made no mention of the hundreds of farmers who had died during the course of this protest, including the deliberate and deplorable running over of four farmers under the wheels of an SUV owned by MoS Ajay Mishra Teni and allegedly driven by his own son.

The issue of MSP (Minimum Support Price) was also ignored by the Pime Minister which has led to consternation and renewed calls for continuing the protests until it is guaranteed by law.

Now, it is likely that the three laws will be officially scrapped through Parliamentary process by the end of this Winter Session. The movement has gathered international attention for its duration which now spans well over a year. The government even tried to block it from gaining international attention after Rihanna, the American popstar, tweeted about it, and even tried embroiling climate activists Disha Ravi (from india) and greta Thunberg (Swedish) into a “toolkit case”.

Now, let us go through the ‘chronology’ of the farmers’ movement from its inception until the present day of the repeal of the three laws which sparked it in the first place.
