Refuting China's claim of Indian troops crossing the LAC and firing 'provocative' shots, the Indian Army issued a statement on Tuesday and said its soldiers have neither fired nor crossed the LAC. A spokesman for the Chinese military on Monday alleged that Indian soldiers fired warning shots at Chinese troops patrolling the border and illegally crossed the LAC when India & China were to hold talks. The Army said, 'As far as the incident of September 7 is concerned, it was Chinese troops who were attempting to close-in with one of our forward positions along the LAC & when dissuaded by own troops, PLA troops fired a few rounds in the air in an attempt to intimidate own troops'
