A program for school children is being organized by the Samajwadi Party in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Akhilesh Yadav asked about the BJP's campaign promise of providing laptops to students, saying that those present need modern devices to study since times have changed, and compared the opportunities for knowledge made available by technology which the older generations did not have.

He then highlighted that his parrty had distributed laptops while in power. He took a dig at the present UP government of Yogii Adityanath, saying that his 'development' was limited to renaming things. He called it a government that "changes names, changes colours" and said that while the same police arrives whether one dials 100 or 112, the "112 police" is now "dishonest".
