Rail services are gradually being restored across the country through special trains amid rising COVID-19 cases, but more or less there is silence on most platforms. Despite starting the service on some special routes, passengers are still avoiding travelling by trains. About half of the coaches of most trains are empty. Railways had announced to run 80 trains from September 12, but the ticket booking were extremely low. According to the railway data, more than 100% of passengers have booked tickets for only two trains, while in most trains less than 50% of seats have been booked.
