Burning since June 9, the fire in Assam's Bagjan Oil Field is still raging and teams of Army, NDRF, and foreign experts are engaged to extinguish it. Experts estimate that the fire could take at least four weeks to cool down which has ravaged wildlife and vegetation near it. Before the fire broke out on June 9, oil was leaking in a well for two weeks after which the company Oil India Limited halted all work.
