Hundreds of pilgrims were startnded after flooding in the Andhra Pradesh holy town of Tirupathi, which is considered as the abode of Lord Venkateshwaa. Traffic was badly affected and flights were cancelled due to the inundation. The four 'maada streets' leading to the Tirumala Hills where the main temple is situated were submerged and affected by landslides. The Japali Anjaneya Swamy temple was also drowned in flood water.
