After 52 days of going without an infection, a new case of Ebola has reported in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), just days ahead the epidemic was expected to be declared to be over in the African country by the World Health Organization (WHO).

“Response teams on the ground have confirmed a new case of Ebola in DRC. We have been preparing for and expecting more cases. Unfortunately this means the government of DRC will not be able to declare an end to the outbreak on Monday as hoped,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO’s Director-General. #Ebola #WHO #Africa
