A family at a cremation ground in Agra's Raibha village was barred from performing the last rites of a woman as she belonged to the Dalit community. When a six-year-old child was going to light his mother’s pyre, upper-caste men from the village arrived, stopped the last rites, and got the woman's body removed. BSP chief Mayawati has also demanded a high-level inquiry into the matter. She tweeted that the act was 'extremely shameful and highly condemnable.’
