At least 8 people died in a fierce fire in a candle factory in Ghaziabad's Modinagar area ​. The dead included 7 women and an 18-year-old boy. Three women also received severe burns and their condition remains critical. At the time of the accident, about 30 people were working inside the factory. Preliminary investigation reveals that the fire broke out due to the falling of an electric wire on a thatch, resulting in the blaze spreading to the factory. Ghaziabad DM Ajay Shankar Pandey has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
