Today, a major announcement was made during the Prime Minister's address to the nation that the three contentious farm laws will be repealed. The Pm said: "We tried our best to explain to farmers. We were even ready to modify the laws, suspend them too. The matter reached the Supreme Court as well. We haven't been able to explain to our farmers. This is not a time to blame anyone". He assured that the constitutional process of repealing the three laws would be completed within this month itself, during the winter session of the parliament.

It is being viewed as a victory and validation of the anti-farm laws movement by the political opposition and more importantly the farmers' organizations who have present on ground. Randeep Surjewala of Congress party who is conducting a press conference at the time of writing, has said that "PM Modi had to bow to farmers and labourers" and that "the defeat of BJP means the victory of farmers, labourers... and India".
