Furore Over Citizenship Amendment Bill
A dozen non-BJP MPs from seven northeastern states, both from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, wrote to PM Modi seeking exclusion of residents of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur and Sikkim from the ambit of Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2019. The Bill is expected to come up in Lok Sabha later this session.
