Madhya Pradesh’s Additional Director General of Police, Purshottam Sharma, has been removed from his post after a video beating his wife went viral. In the video, DG Purushottam Sharma first pushes his wife to the floor and thrashes her. After the video went viral, the MP government relieved him of his duties. Madhya Pradesh Home Ministry said that if his wife complains then legal action will also be taken against Purshottam Sharma. The National Commission for Women Chief, Rekha Sharma, taking note of the incident, has demanded the officer be sent to jail. Madhya Pradesh Women's Commission, who has not received any complaint yet, said will take action on it.
