Prime Mininster Narendra #Modi luanched the Indian Space Association (ISpA), an industry body for space policy. He said that India should not be left behind in the space age and the information technology age. He said that there is a need to encourage the private sector in space. Space technology can benefit the agriculture and fishing sectors by providing accurate weather forecasts that will also be useful in mitigating natural disasters. The IN Space program is meant to facilitate the private sector in space.

He further said that women in space should be encouraged,and highlighted the contributions of female ISRO engineers. 

A host of CEOs from different companies, both public and startups such as Airtel, Tata group, Walchandnagar Industries, Pixxel, Astrome Technologies, and more, also spoke in the virtual event on various aspects of the space industry.
