24 Test Positive From Delhi Religious Event In Niz
Large-scale coronavirus infection is feared to have spread at the headquarters of the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area. According to a probe conducted so far, 24 people part of the Tablighi Jamaat have been found to be infected with the coronavirus in Delhi.

After rescuing people in large numbers, the entire area has been sealed and an enquiry is underway.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said, “It is not yet clear how many people had gathered at Markaz, the headquarters of the Jamaat but according to an estimate, this number could be between 1500 and 1700. So far, 1033 people have been rescued from there. Out of these, while 334 people have been taken to the hospital, 700 have been sent to the quarantine centre.”

It is being said that the religious event was organised at the Markaz despite restrictions in capital Delhi, due to which infection has spread.

The Delhi government has considered it a serious crime and ordered an FIR to be registered in this case.

Meanwhile, Health Minister Satyendra Jain has written a letter to L-G Anil Baijal and demanded strict action against the Markaz administration.

For the time being, a team of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation is sanitising the entire area.

A team of the Health Department and the administration is also present at the spot. Before admitting people to hospitals, information related to them is being collated over here.

Several state governments in the country are now on alert due to this Jamaat, because people from many states were part of the religious gathering.

In light of this, an alert has been issued for 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Among them are Ghaziabad, Meerut, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Hapur, Bijnor, Baghpat, Varanasi, Bhadohi, Mathura, Agra, Sitapur, Barabanki, Allahabad, Bahraich, Gonda and Balrampur.
