The number of coronavirus patients in the country has nearly doubled in just a week.

Till April 6, there were 4,700 coronavirus patients in the country but on April 12, their number increased to 9,152. That is, in just six days, 4,452 people across the country contracted the disease.


According to the latest data from the Health Ministry, while 308 new patients have been found in the last 24 hours, 35 people have died.

The total number of patients in the country has reached 9,152 and 308 people have died from the coronavirus.

The situation is changing quickly in capital Delhi and Mumbai. Till Sunday, the number of patients in Delhi was recorded at 1,154 and 24 people had died.

According to CM Arvind Kejriwal, 43 areas in the capital have been sealed so far. Preparations are on to seal some other areas too after identifying them.

The number of patients in Dharavi, Mumbai’s largest slum, is increasing rapidly. According to the state government, while 47 patients have been found here so far, five have died.

The total number of coronavirus patients in the state has reached around 2,000. 

Preventing the spread of the coronavirus in Dharavi is a huge challenge for Maharashtra’s Uddhav Thackeray government. Lakhs of people stay in this area with a dense population.
