Violence Erupts In China As People Try To Leave Virus-Stricken Hubei

Violent clashes erupted in Mainland China as people in large numbers attempted to leave the central province of Hubei – the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak – days after authorities relaxed the two-month lockdown.

Media outlets citing several videos posted on social media reported that violence broke out on a bridge between China’s virus-stricken Hubei province and neighbouring Jiangxi province. The confrontation came after authorities in Jiangxi blocked entry to people from Hubei, which lifted its lockdown of areas this week, the reports said.
