Bengal BJP MLA Debendra Nath Ray Found Hanging In North Dinajpur, Party Alleges Murder
West Bengal: Body of BJP MLA Debendra Nath Ray of Hemtabad Assembly of North Dinajpur district was found hanging near his house on Monday morning. His family has claimed that some people came home at 1 pm and called him and took him away. This morning the locals saw his hanging body and called the police. Ray’s family, the locals, and the BJP claimed that the MLA was killed and then hanged.

The video of this entire incident was tweeted by the West Bengal BJP on its authorized Twitter account, saying - 'Body of Shri Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad, a reserved seat, in Uttar Dinajpur, was found hanging like this in Bindal, near his village home. People are of the clear opinion that he was first killed & then hung. His crime? He joined the BJP in 2019.’

BJP President JP Nadda in a tweet said - ‘The suspected heinous killing of Debendra Nath Ray, BJP MLA from Hemtabad in West Bengal, is extremely shocking and deplorable. This speaks of the Gunda Raj & failure of law and order in the Mamta govt.’

The police of Dinajpur district said that the cause of death will be known after the post-mortem and the body has been sent to Raiganj Hospital for post-mortem. However, so far no statement has been received from CM Mamta Banerjee on the death of BJP leader Debendra Nath Ray. BJP leader Debendra Nath Ray from Hemtabad assembly was elected MLA on CPM ticket in 2016 but joined BJP in 2019.
