COVID-19 Cases In India Rise, Three Deaths
Over 7,100 people have died so far from the deadly COVID-19, which has spread to 162 nations across the world. In India, the number of patients has increased to 129 while three people have succumbed to the disease and 13 people have completely recovered. Around 15 states in the country are currently affected by the coronavirus.
Amid this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday asked the citizens of India for suggestions to deal with the coronavirus.
The Union Health Ministry issued a new advisory on Monday to deal with the growing hazard posed by the coronavirus. In the advisory, the Health Ministry has advised schools, colleges and malls across the country to remain closed till March 31. In Maharashtra, in view of the increasing cases of the coronavirus, the state government has decided to stamp the left hands of patients kept in isolation in the state. The havoc caused by the coronavirus has impacted temples as well. While Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple has been closed till further orders, devotees will not be able to take part in the ‘bhasm aarti’ at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple till March 31. Amid this, given the steadily-rising number of coronavirus cases, the government of India has banned the entry of passengers from the European Union, Turkey and Britain from March 18 onwards. Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation has said that trials are currently ongoing on more than 200 medicines. Tests for a coronavirus vaccine have begun in the United States as well. While the imposition of curfew has been announced in the two large US states of New Jersey and San Francisco, to prevent the coronavirus infection from spreading, France has announced a nationwide lockdown for the next 15 days. French President Emmanuel Macron has ordered people to stay at home for the next 15 days. Along with this, Macron has suspended all kinds of taxes, rents, and bills for water, electricity and gas.
