Fine Of Up To Rs 1 lakh For Not Wearing Mask In Jh
Violation of rules to prevent coronavirus in Jharkhand can now prove to be extremely costly for the citizens. The state’s Hemant Soren government has issued an ordinance mandating strict action against those who do not wear masks and violate the rules made for safety.

On Thursday, the state cabinet passed the Infectious Diseases Ordinance 2020. It states that a fine of Rs 1 lakh will be imposed on those who ignore the security protocol and those who do not wear masks in the state.

The ordinance also states that if a person is caught violating the rules, he can be imprisoned for up to two years. However, no check post has been made anywhere in the state for this, and people are still seen violating masks and rules.

Also, the ordinance has once again described spitting in public places as a punishable offence. Earlier, the state government had banned eating gutkha and pan masala in public places in view of COVID-19 infection.

The state secretariat has been sealed after a COVID-19 case was reported. Till 31 July, all the work in the secretariat will be stopped. So far, 6,458 cases of the novel virus have been reported in the state. Of these, 64 people died and 3,024 patients recovered after treatment.
