Ayodhya: Another Ram Temple Priest Falls Prey To Coronavirus

Preparations for ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ or the stone laying ceremony for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya have reached the last stage but coronavirus cases keep surfacing. Now another assistant priest of Ramlala, Prem Kumar Tiwari has become COVID-19 positive. According to CMO Dr. Ghanshyam Singh, those coming in contact with Prem Kumar Tiwari are being identified.

Earlier on Friday, an assistant priest Pradeep Das had fallen prey to the novel coronavirus. Apart from them, 14 policemen posted for temple security had also tested positive. According to the Ram Mandir Construction Tirtha Trust, a total of 175 people have been sent invitations for the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony. There are 135 sages and saints from different traditions. The Chief Guest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the Ram temple on Wednesday afternoon.

Uttar Pradesh is one of the states where the health structure is very weak and the coronavirus outbreak is spreading rapidly. According to the new figures of the Health Ministry, so far 97,62 patients have been reported in UP, out of which more than 40,000 are active and 1,778 people have died.
