Cop Killed As Pro And Anti-CAA Protesters Clash In
Violence erupted for the second day running as pro and anti-CAA protesters clashed with each other in the capital Delhi. A Delhi police constable and a civilian were killed while protesters from both sides were injured on Monday.

Ratanlal, a head constable posted at Gokalpuri police station and Mohd Furqaan, a civilian, died while 37 police personnel got injured including the DCP of Shahdara.


Houses, shops and trains were torched in Jaffrabad while a petrol pump was set on fire in Karawal Nagar. Section 144 has been imposed in the affected areas and the atmosphere of tension remains intact.

Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Seelampur, Chandbagh, Kardampuri areas of North East Delhi witnessed the maximum impact from the violence.

Amid stone-pelting in these areas, the police had to lathi-charge and a stampede broke out in the entire area. 

Delhi Police has issued a statement urging people to maintain peace and harmony and not to believe any rumors.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, 'Peace, harmony in some parts of Delhi is disturbing news. I appeal to LG Anil Baijal and Home Minister Amit Shah to restore peace as well as law and order. Nobody should be allowed such heinousness. '
