Opposition Parties Corner Yogi Govt Over Gangster

Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur ambush in which 8 policemen were killed, surrendered in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday. Yet, on Friday morning, the Uttar Pradesh Police shot dead Dubey while he allegedly tried to escape while in custodial transit to Kanpur. While the Yogi government and the police are getting accolades from some quarters on Dubey's killing, Opposition parties have raised serious doubts over the 'encounter'.

Former UP CM and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav took a shot on the Yogi Govt over the alleged encounter in a tweet.

Priyanka Gandhi, Congress general secretary and in-charge of UP Congress, also tweeted on the alleged encounter.

BSP spokesman Sudhindra Bhadoria tweeted -

Shiv Sena Deputy Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted -

Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah also tweeted saying, “Dead men tell no tales.”

The manner in which Vikas Dubey was arrested on Thursday morning, even then many opposition parties raised questions on the entire development. On Thursday, Akhilesh Yadav, while raising the question, asked that the government should clarify whether it was surrender or arrest and demanded to make his call recording public while Priyanka Gandhi had asked for a CBI inquiry.
