Thackeray: Run Special Trains To Send Migrant Work
Maharashtra is bearing the brunt of the coronavirus crisis. Over here, the number of patients has reached 5,218 and 251 people have died.

Amid this, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has asked the Central government to send the state’s migrant workers back home.

Uddhav Thackeray said, “Arrangements for stay, food and treatment of around six lakh migrant workers have been made in relief camps. However, in such a time, it is difficult for them to stay away from their families.”

He added, “If the Central government thinks that the coronavirus infection could increase between April 30 and May 15, then it should certainly mull over the decision of sending labourers back home in special trains.”

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister of the state and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis has alleged that coronavirus testing is not being done properly.

In a letter to CM Thackeray, he has said that on being admitted to hospital, coronavirus testing of those patients who are being declared ‘coronavirus-suspects’ is not being done.

After death, dead bodies are being handed over to families saying they are ‘coronavirus-suspects’. Two such cases have been sent to the Chief Minister.

Devendra Fadnavis said that because of this, the risk of spread of the coronavirus is increasing. People and family members who have come into contact with dead bodies of ‘coronavirus-suspects’ should be identified and put under quarantine, he added.
