After defeating Sri Lanka 2-1 in the T20 series and Australia 2-1 in the one-day series in the New Year, Team India is now going on a two-month-long tour of New Zealand. In this tour, India will play a five-match T20 series, a three-match one-day series, and a two-match test series. 

While India’s record against New Zealand in Test and one-day matches is good, New Zealand is the better side against India in T20 matches.


The T20 series will be played first, with the first match at Auckland’s Eden Park on January 24. The one-day series will be played after the T20 series. After the one-day series, Team India will play a three-day practice match against New Zealand 11. After the practice match, both teams will play a two-match test series.

Figures show that New Zealand has a good record against India in T20 matches. Both teams have played a total of 11 T20 matches till now, out of which New Zealand has won eight matches and India has won three matches. India is currently on the fifth spot and New Zealand is ranked sixth in T20 rankings.

India is the stronger side against New Zealand according to one-day statistics. Both teams have played a total of 107 one-day matches till now, out of which India has won 55 matches and New Zealand has won 46 matches, while one match ended in a tie and five matches remained inconclusive. India is currently ranked second and New Zealand is on the third spot in one-day rankings.

Statistics for test matches reveal that India’s record of playing against New Zealand is quite good. Both teams have played a total of 57 matches till now, out of which India has won 21 matches and New Zealand has won 10 matches, while 26 matches ended in a draw. India is currently on the first spot and New Zealand is placed third in test rankings.
