Around 10,000 New COVID-19 Cases For The Second Co

About ten thousand cases of the novel coronavirus have been found in the country for the second consecutive day, after which India has become the sixth most-affected countries in the world, leaving Italy behind.

According to the latest statistics of the Health Ministry, 9,887 new cases were found in the last 24 hours and around three hundred deaths occurred. After this, the total number of infected patients has increased to 2,36,657 while the death toll has reached 6,642. At the same time, the number of active patients has been recorded at 1,15,942.

In the list of countries affected by the coronavirus, now only the US, Brazil, Russia, Spain, and the UK are above India. At this pace, in the next four days, India will overtake the UK and Spain to become the fourth most-affected country. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has shared a graph, calling the lockdown a failure. The graph states that the lockdown was imposed in Spain, Germany, Italy, and the UK when the infection was spiking.

A few days after the lockdown, the infection reached its peak and when the number of patients started to decrease, the lockdown was lifted. At the same time, the lockdown was imposed in India early but it was lifted before the cases reduced.
