COVID-19 Cases Mount To 21,393, Death Toll 681
The number of coronavirus patients in the country has reached 21,393 and the death toll stands at 681. 

According to the latest data from the Health Ministry, 1,409 new patients have been found in the past 24 hours and 41 people have succumbed to the disease.


So far, 4,258 patients have also been discharged from the hospital after treatment.

After attacks on doctors, nurses and other health workers in various parts of the country, the Central government had brought in an ordinance on Tuesday, which has now been sanctioned by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Under this ordinance, the guilty can be punished for a term of six months to seven years.

Amid this, the number of patients in capital Delhi has reached 2,248. Over here, while 724 people have been discharged from hospital after treatment, 48 people have died.

Meanwhile, Rohit Dutta, the first coronavirus patient in Delhi, has now recovered fully. Amid the growing coronavirus crisis, he has appealed to people to stay positive, have faith in their doctors and their government and to stay at home. This is the only remedy, he said.

At the moment, over 26 lakh 37 thousand coronavirus patients have been found in India and across the world. 

More than 1 lakh 84 thousand deaths have been reported so far. Among these, the highest number of deaths (48,000) have taken place in the United States alone.
