India Records Over 2,000 COVID-19 Deaths In 24 Hou
Over 2,000 COVID-19 deaths were reported in 24 hours — the country’s biggest jump so far — and 10,974 new cases across the country, according to the Health Ministry's latest bulletin.

During the first week of June, there was an average of 200 deaths, but on June 15, deaths reported were 380 across the country. June 16 recorded the grim data of over 2,000 deaths, more than five times the average deaths in a day, across the country.


Maharashtra has the highest number of 1,409 deaths while 437 deaths were reported in Delhi. Tamil Nadu is at number three where 49 deaths have occurred in 24 hours. There have been 28 deaths in Gujarat and 18 in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, the total death toll in the country has gone up to 11,903 while total cases stand at 354,065.
