On The Rise Coronavirus Cases In India: State-Wise
The number of coronavirus cases in the country has reached close to 78,000 and the death toll nears 2,500. According to Health Ministry data at 8 am on Thursday, the total number of coronavirus patients in the country has reached 78,003 and there are 49,219 active cases now. 

While 2,549 people have lost their lives so far, 26,234 people have recovered as well.


The highest number of deaths in the country has taken place in Maharashtra at 975, where 25,922 cases have come to light and 5,547 people have recovered too.

In Gujarat, 566 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus so far. While 3,562 people have been discharged here, the total number of patients is 9,267.

In Madhya Pradesh, there have been 232 deaths. The total number of patients here is 4,173 and 2,004 patients have been discharged. 

In West Bengal, 207 people have lost their lives so far. While 702 people have recovered here, 2,290 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Rajasthan, 121 people have lost their lives so far. While 2,459 people have recovered here, 4,328 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Delhi, there have been 106 deaths. A total of 7,998 cases have been reported here and 2,858 patients have recovered.

There have been 83 deaths in Uttar Pradesh. Over here, 3,729 cases have been reported and 1,902 patients have recovered.

In Tamil Nadu, 64 people have died. While 2,176 people have been discharged, 9,227 people are infected.

In Andhra Pradesh, there have been 47 deaths. The total number of patients here is 2,137 and 1,142 patients have been discharged.

In Telangana, 34 people have lost their lives so far. While 1,367 people have contracted the virus, 940 people have recovered.

In Karnataka, 33 people have died, with 959 cases and 451 recoveries have been reported.

There have been 32 deaths in Punjab. While 200 people have recovered here, the total number of patients is 1,924.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 10 people have lost their lives so far. While 466 people have recovered, 971 people have contracted the illness.

Haryana has reported 11 deaths, 418 recoveries and 793 coronavirus cases.

Bihar COVID-19 deaths is at 7, recoveries at 388 and cases at 940.

There have been four deaths in Kerala. Total cases stand at 534 in Kerala and 490 have been discharged.

There have been three deaths each in Odisha, Chandigarh and Jharkhand. Total cases stand at 538 in Odisha, 187 in Chandigarh, 173 in Jharkhand, whereas recoveries stand at 143, 28 and 79 respectively.

In both Assam and Himachal Pradesh, two deaths have been reported and 39 recoveries. Assam has 80 cases while Himachal has 66 cases.

Besides, Uttarakhand, Meghalaya and Puducherry have reported one death each.

The coronavirus has hit 33 states and union territories across the country so far and the number of patients is increasing rapidly.
