With Nearly 10,000 New Cases, India COVID-19 Cases Rise To 2,26,770
Over the last 24 hours, 9,851 new coronavirus patients have been reported — the country’s largest single-day spike — and 273 deaths, bringing the nationwide total to 2.26 lakh and the death toll at 6,348.
Meanwhile, the active cases have mounted to 110,960.
The month of June has proved to be the deadliest in terms of infection spread. In just four days, 36,000 new cases have been registered and over 1,000 deaths have occurred. According to the Ministry of Health, on 1 June, COVID-19 cases stood at 190,535 and the death toll was 5,394. Now the number of cases has increased to 226,770 while deaths have climbed to 6,348.
