COVID-19 State-Wise Data: Maharashtra Nears 78,000
With record 9,851 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours and 273 deaths, India cases have mounted to 226,770 lakh and the death toll is at 6,348. According to Health Ministry data at 8 am on Friday, there are 120,960 active cases and 109,461 people have recovered.

At 2,710, the highest number of deaths in the country were reported in Maharashtra, where 77,793 cases have come to light and 33,681 people have recovered too. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-affected state with 27,256 cases, 220 deaths and 14,902 recoveries, followed by Gujarat.


In Gujarat, 1,155 people have died so far, while 12,667 people have been discharged and the total number of patients is 18,584.

Delhi has climbed to the third spot with 25,004 cases and 650 deaths, 9,898 patients have recovered.

In Madhya Pradesh, there have been 377 deaths. The total number of patients here is 8,762 and 5,637 patients have been discharged. 

In West Bengal, 355 people have lost their lives so far. While 2,768 people have recovered here, 6,876 people have contracted the coronavirus.

There have been 245 deaths in Uttar Pradesh. Over here, 9,237 cases have been reported and 5,439 patients have recovered.

In Rajasthan, 213 people have lost their lives so far. While 7,104 people have recovered here, 9,862 people have contracted the coronavirus.

In Telangana, 105 people have lost their lives so far. While 3,147 people have contracted the virus, 1,587 people have recovered.

In Andhra Pradesh, there have been 71 deaths. The total number of patients here is 4,223 and 2,539 patients have been discharged.

In Karnataka, 57 people have died, with 4,320 cases and 1,610 recoveries have been reported.

There have been 47 deaths in Punjab. While 2,043 people have recovered here, the total number of patients is 2,415.

In Jammu and Kashmir, 35 people have lost their lives so far. While 1,048 people have recovered, 3,142 people have contracted the illness.

Bihar COVID-19 deaths are at 29, recoveries at 2,210 and cases at 4,493.

Haryana has reported 24 deaths, 2,134 recoveries and 3,281 coronavirus cases.

In Kerala, there have been 14 deaths, 690 recoveries and 1,588 cases.

Uttarakhand has reported 10 deaths, 297 recoveries and 1,153 cases.

In Odisha, seven deaths have been reported, with 1,416 recoveries and 2,478 cases.

There have six deaths in Jharkhand, and 354 recoveries and 793 cases.

There have been five deaths in Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh. Total cases stand at 383 in Himachal and 301 in Chandigarh whereas 179 in Himachal and 214 in Chandigarh have been discharged.

Four COVID-19 deaths have been registered in Assam. While there are 1,988 cases in Assam, the recoveries stand at 442.

Chhattisgarh has reported two deaths, 213 recoveries and 756 cases.

Besides, Meghalaya and Ladakh have reported one death each.

The coronavirus has hit 35 states and union territories across the country so far and the number of patients is increasing rapidly.
