Pakistan Declares National Emergency Over Locust P
The terror of locust attacks is no less frightening than the spread of a terrible disease. After wreaking havoc in the Indian states of Rajasthan and Punjab, locust swarms have now reached Pakistan.

In India, the governments of Rajasthan and Punjab had to work very hard to stop locust attacks and now, the same is being proven to be true with a large-scale locust attack in Karachi.

Locust swarms have attacked farmers’ standing crops in Pakistan’s Punjab province so severely that now the Pakistan government may have to suffer a blow of Rs 730 crore in dealing with the menace. Pakistan has also declared it a national emergency.

Even though Pakistan had to adopt one or the other measure to deal with locust attacks each year, this time around the most havoc is being seen in Pakistan’s Punjab province.

This is the first attack by locusts since March 2019 in Pakistan, due to which 9 lakh hectare area has suffered damage in Punjab, Khyber and Sindh regions.

According to reports coming in from Pakistan, this terrible attack by locusts has damaged vegetation worth atleast Rs 10 lakh. Given these serious circumstances, Pakistan PM Imran Khan has announced that this is a national emergency.
