Delhi CM COVID-19 Relief Measures: Pension Doubled, 50% Free Ration To Poor
Amid the growing threat of the novel Coronavirus, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said it has not imposed lockdown in the national capital for now, but it will be locked if needed.
During his first-ever digital only-press conference to protect journalists from the virus, he announced several important decisions and the preparations made for the ‘Janata curfew’.
He said that COVID-19 “restrictions are causing terrible financial stress to the poor”. The Delhi Govt’s decisions taken to provide them relief include: 1. Rs 4000-5000 pension will be paid to 8.5 lakh beneficiaries by April 7 2. Free rations, with 50% more quantity than normal entitlements, to 72 lakh beneficiaries
