While governments of various states in the country might claim that women are safe there and make various schemes for their security, the truth is totally opposite of the governments’ claims and promises. Also, tall claims are always made in election campaigns about the safety of women and minors but the ground reality is totally different.

Cases of rape of minor girls are being continuously reported in the country and show no signs of stopping. 


Now, new cases of rape of minors have come to light in Uttar Pradesh (U.P.), Madhya Pradesh (M.P.) and Tamil Nadu.

On Thursday, in U.P.’s Amroha, a madrasa director raped a minor girl and is now absconding. After filing a case, police have begun searching for the accused and sent the rape victim for a medical examination.

Meanwhile, in M.P.’s Biaora Suthalia, the case of rape of a minor girl has come to light on Thursday night. Angry with her family, the girl had left her house and set out to meet her brother in Indore. According to the victim, the accused raped her inside a bus parked at Biaora Bus Stand. Police have filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and arrested the accused named Rajeev Ahirwar. Six people are currently being questioned in the case.

The case of rape and murder of a minor girl has also come to light from Coimbatore, in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. Police have filed a case of murder and rape and arrested the accused.

Despite all kinds of claims, government figures reveal that there has been no decline in incidents of rape. According to statistics of the National Crime Records Bureau, four rapes were taking place every hour in the country in 2014. In the year 2016, 38,947 cases of rapes of minor girls had come to light.
