UP: Deputy SP Among 8 Policemen Killed By Criminal

In a shocking incident from UP’s Kanpur, criminals associated with history-sheeter Vikas Dubey open fire on a UP police team killing eight policemen, including one Deputy SP, and injuring several others.

Additional Director General Law and Order of Uttar Pradesh Prashant Kumar reached the spot with senior officers and said that the operation is ongoing against the criminals. According to Kumar, seven people were injured in the incident, including a local resident. Some weapons of the policemen are also missing.

The policemen who died in this operation were identified as Circle Officer Devendra Kumar Mishra, Station Officer Mahesh Yadav, Outpost Incharge Anoop Kumar, Sub Inspector Nebulal, Constable Sultan Singh, Rahul, Jitendra, and Bablu.

According to DGP HC Awasthi from Uttar Pradesh, the police team had gone to capture a history-sheeter Vikas Dubey, on whom a case of attempt to murder was registered recently. To stop the police, the miscreants had put a JCB machine on the way. When the police arrived, the criminals started firing. The offenders were at a height which they benefited from.

The incident took place in Bikaru village of Kanpur, where now, a heavy force has been deployed. In addition to the Kanpur police, STF has also been deployed to arrest Dubey. Police teams from Kanpur district and Kannauj districts have also been called. According to UP Police, there are about 60 serious crime cases registered against Dubey.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath claims to have improved the law system, but the ground reality appears to be contrary.
