Wellington Test: Kiwis Thrash Team India
New Zealand took a 1-0 lead in the two-match test series after beating India by 10 wickets on the fourth day of Wellington Test on Monday. Throughout the match, India's batting and bowling remained poor and big names failed to deliver. Even captain Virat Kohli put up a poor show in both innings.

The second and final match of the test series will be played at Christchurch from February 29.


On the morning of the fourth day of play, Team India was all out in its second innings at the score of 191 runs and it set the Kiwis a target of nine runs to win the match. New Zealand made 10 runs in just one over and four balls and won the match by 10 wickets.

In the first test match played in Wellington’s Basin Reserve Stadium, New Zealand had invited India to bat first after winning the toss. Batting first, India made 165 runs in the first innings and 191 runs in the second innings. 

While New Zealand made 348 runs in the first innings, Tim Southee, who took four wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings for the Kiwis was declared ‘Man of the Match’.
