Action has been taken in the case of journalist Tarun Sisodia who died by suicide after jumping from AIIMS Trauma Center in Delhi. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has ordered the removal of Dr. Amit Lathwal, Medical Superintendent of AIIMS Trauma Center. Journalist Tarun Sisodia, who was battling COVID-19, allegedly jumped from the fourth floor of the hospital on July 6.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan has dismissed the possibility of murder in this case. He said that in the investigation, no evidence has been found of any wrong motive behind the death of the journalist nor found any disturbance in his treatment process. Also, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has directed to constitute an expert committee for necessary changes in the administration of AIIMS and Jai Prakash Narayan Apex Trauma Center, which will submit its suggestions by July 27.

According to DCP Devendra Arya of South West Delhi, 37-year-old journalist Tarun Sisodia, living in Bhajanpura, was admitted to the ICU ward on the first floor of AIIMS Trauma Center on 24 June. At around 2 pm on Monday afternoon, he ran away and reached the fourth floor. Seeing the journalist running away, the nursing staff tried their best to stop him. But before anyone could catch him, he broke the fourth-floor window and jumped from there and died.
