Anti-CAA Protest: Shaheen Bagh On Day 61
Protest against CAA, NRC and NPR continue at Delhi's Shaheen Bagh where traffic remains closed for Day 61. Further, the Puducherry Assembly joins other states to pass a resolution against CAA.

Protests and strikes against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) have been constantly underway in several cities of the country for the past two months.


Protests by women are ongoing at Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh and Thursday is the 61st day of protests there. Protesters say that they will continue their strike till the government repeals the CAA. The Kalindi Kunj-Noida road is completely blocked due to the protests at Shaheen Bagh because of which people are facing several difficulties.

Protests and strikes against the CAA, NRC and NPR on the lines of Shaheen Bagh are underway in various cities, including Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow.

Meanwhile, after five states, a resolution against the CAA has been passed in the Union Territory of Puducherry as well. Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy informed that an anti-CAA resolution has been passed in the Puducherry Assembly. 

Puducherry is the first Union Territory to pass such a resolution. Before this, a resolution against the CAA has been passed in West Bengal, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh assemblies as well.
