Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, measures to prevent infections are not being followed during the preparations for the Bihar Assembly elections.

This is the reason why the Bihar BJP headquarters has become the new epicentre of the Coronavirus. Bihar BJP President Sanjay Jaiswal said that samples of 110 people associated with the BJP office were sent for testing, in which 24 BJP leaders and workers, have been found infected.

Meanwhile, total lockdown will be imposed in Bihar from 16 to 31 July, said Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday.

Only essential services will be allowed during this 15-day lockdown period and all shops, malls and religious places will be shut, according to the State Government guidelines. Farming & construction-related activities are allowed.

Among the infected leaders of Bihar BJP include big names like General Secretary Nagendra Ji, State General Secretary Dinesh Kumar, State Vice President Rajesh Verma and Radha Mohan Sharma. The BJP office has been sealed after being declared a containment zone.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav tweeted - 85 people, including family, have tested COVID-19 positive in Chief Minister's residence. 75 BJP leaders have been infected due to virtual rally. Many people, including the personal staff, have been infected in the Deputy Chief Minister's residence. Chief Secretary and many secretariat staff were infected. What about the common man when CM, deputy CM and ministers are not safe in Bihar?

Assembly elections are due in Bihar later this year and through a virtual rally, BJP is campaigning its election campaign. It is being said that due to the gathering of BJP leaders, again and again, the virus has exploded in the party headquarters. Statistics show that the number of corona-infected patients in the state has gone up to about 18,000 while the death toll is at 160.
