COVID-19: Records Tumble With 331 Deaths & 9,987 Cases In 24 Hours
In the last 24 hours, India registered record 331 deaths and 9,987 new cases of COVID-19 — marking the biggest single-day spike so far. The latest numbers bringing the coronavirus cases to 266,598 and the death toll at 7,466, according to the Ministry of Health's latest bulletin.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases is 129,917.
Maharashtra is the worst-affected state where total number of infections have exceeded 88,000, followed by 3,229 in Tamil Nadu, 29,943 in Delhi, 20,545 in Gujarat, 10,947 in Uttar Pradesh and 10,763 patients in Rajasthan.
