Ind Vs Aus: Anti-CAA Posters Flashed At Wankhede Stadium
Protests are underway on a daily basis against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR) in various parts of the country.
Some students protested against the CAA, NRC and NPR during the first one-day match between India and Australia in Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday. All these students were wearing t-shirts with the slogans - ‘No CAA’, ‘No NRC’ and ‘No NPR’. In response, some spectators began raising slogans of ‘Modi-Modi’.
Later, a video of this entire incident went viral on social media. Earlier, on January 5, an incident related to CAA and NRC had come to light inside the stadium during the first T20 match between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati. At that time, spectators had raised slogans against Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while protesting against the CAA.
