Despite the nationwide lockdown and all kinds of restrictions, the pace of attack of the coronavirus in the country keeps increasing.

The Uttar Pradesh government has completely sealed 15 districts due to the growing risk of community transmission.


Among them are Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Lucknow, Agra, Shamli, Saharanpur, Kanpur, Sitapur, Bareilly, Bulandshahr, Basti, Firozabad and Varanasi.

UP Chief Secretary RK Tiwari said that in these districts, movement of only home delivery and medical teams will be allowed.

Several states are in favour of extending the lockdown due to the growing risks posed by the coronavirus.

In a Cabinet meeting, the Uttarakhand government has passed a proposal to extend the lockdown and sent it to the Central government. 

Amid this, after an all-party meeting, PM Modi has also indicated that the lockdown might be extended.

It’s being said that PM Modi will review the situation after a meeting with the Chief Ministers of all states on April 11 and a decision on ending the lockdown or extending it will be taken after that.

At the moment, the number of coronavirus cases across the country is increasing. After 773 new cases came to light in the last 24 hours, the total number of patients has crossed the 5,000 mark.

So far, there have also been 149 deaths in the country due to the coronavirus.
