The second match of the three-match one-day series between India and West Indies will be played at Visakhapatnam’s Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on Wednesday. West Indies is currently ahead in the series 1-0 after winning the first match.

In the first match of the series, played in Chennai, West Indies had defeated India by eight wickets. While West Indies will try to win the second match and gain a lead of 2-0 in the series, thus winning it, India will also try to win the match and level the series 1-1.


The two teams have played a total of four matches at this stadium till date, out of which both teams have won one match each. Also, while one match ended in a tie, another match was abandoned. Meanwhile, India has played a total of nine matches till now at this stadium, out of which it has won six matches. 

If we take a look at one-day match statistics of both teams till now, they appear evenly-placed. 

Both teams have played a total of 131 one-day matches till now, out of which India has won 62 matches and West Indies has won 63 matches. Apart from this, while two matches ended in a tie, four matches remained inconclusive.

India in currently on second spot and West Indies is placed ninth in ICC’s one-day rankings.

The third and final match of the one-day series will be played in Cuttack on December 22.
