'Chinmayanand Would Be Behind Bars If He Wasn't A BJP Leader'
On the allegations of rape and exploitation against former Union minister and BJP leader Chinmayanand, the Congress Party said Chinmayananda would have been behind bars if he were not a BJP leader.
This came a day after a postgraduate student alleged that she was raped by the BJP leader who also physically exploited her for one year.
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, “No matter how big the crime or the criminal is, once he takes to saffron, all his sins are washed away." He further said, “The statement of the survivor is adequate as required by the law. We only demand the Supreme Court guidelines must be followed in order to know the truth behind the allegations." Last week, the Supreme Court had heard the woman's account in a closed hearing and ordered the UP government to set up an SIT to inquire into her allegations.
