India COVID-19 Cases Jump To 415, Maharashtra High
The number of people infected with the coronavirus is constantly rising in India and so far, 415 cases of the disease have been confirmed across the country. The highest number of cases have come to light in Maharashtra - 89.

Similarly, 67 cases in Kerala, 30 cases in Delhi, 28 cases in Rajasthan, 27 cases in Telangana, 26 cases each in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka, 21 cases in Punjab and 18 cases each in Haryana and Gujarat have been reported


Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has claimed that there has been no community transmission of the coronavirus so far. However, 14 new cases in Mumbai and one new coronavirus case has been reported in Pune.

Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that out of 30 coronavirus patients, while 23 have returned from foreign trips, seven others have been infected by these same people. Kejriwal has also claimed that the situation is under control in Delhi. He has also appealed to everyone to follow the lockdown.

Earlier, hundreds of people in several parts of the country disregarded the Janta Curfew, stepped out of their homes and began banging on metal plates in groups. After several such videos came to light, PM Modi has appealed to all states to take strict action against people who break the law.

Amid this, atleast 15 states have announced a complete lockdown. The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed lockdown in 16 districts of the state, including in Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act had been going on at Lucknow’s Ghanta Ghar for the past two months but these have now been temporarily postponed.

Protests by women are underway in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh as well, but more than five women are not converging at the protest site at any given time.
