India, Pakistan Sign Kartarpur Pact

India and Pakistan have reached a final agreement over the Kartarpur Corridor. Representatives from both countries signed the agreement after reaching Zero Point. Now, Prime Ministers from both countries will inaugurate the corridor on November 9.

There was disagreement between the two nations about the date of the inauguration and the fees to be levied, which has been resolved. Pakistan will grant Sikh pilgrims visa-free access but will charge a service fee of $20, which is Rs 1,400 as service charge, which will lead to monthly earnings of Rs 21 crore.

After the agreement, SCL Das, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs told which documents the pilgrims will have to carry with them.

According to the agreement, 5,000 pilgrims from India will be allowed to go to Kartarpur Sahib daily to pay obeisance. These pilgrims will have to return to India by evening.

Before the inauguration of the Kartarpur Corridor, the first batch of Sikh pilgrims will leave on November 5 and the second batch will leave on November 6 for Nankana Sahib, where preparations are on for the 550th birth anniversary of Baba Nanak. This batch of pilgrims will return to India from Nankana Sahib on November 13.
