Police Had No Clues In 1,339 Blind Murders In 2019
According to the National Crime Records Bureau data, in 2019, there were 1,339 blind murders reported across the country, in which no clue/motive was known by the police and the murderer remained outside the ambit of the law.

Last year, a total of 29,918 murders were registered across the country, and the motive in most of the cases was ‘property dispute’, ‘domestic dispute’ and ‘personal vendetta or enmity’. But do you know that thousands of murderers do not get caught every year because the police have no clues of them?

Such blind murders also raise questions on the ability of state investigative agencies.

In Bihar, 3,138 murder cases were registered in 2019, 240 of them were those cases where the police could not reach the assailant.

Similarly, in Uttar Pradesh, out of 3,806 murders, police could not get a clue or motive in 122 cases and in Maharashtra, out of 2,142 murder cases, the police could not solve 109 cases.

In Madhya Pradesh, 1,795 murder cases were filed, but 97 cases of them, remained out of the grasp of the police.

In contrast, out of 323 total murders in Kerala, but not a single-blind murder was reported here. That is, the police resolved all cases.

In Odisha, a total of 1,356 murder cases were also reported but not a single case was left in which the murderers have not been identified. In Goa, out of 33 murders registered in Goa, 2 cases were there in which the police is still empty-handed.

Apparently, about 4.47 percent of the murder cases are not solved by the police and in all this, the criminals led a normal life in society. The state governments should equip the police forces with the latest training, forensic science and modern equipment to investigate crime so that not a single murderer can get away from murder.
