Coronavirus Claims Over 900 Lives In China
The havoc caused by the deadly coronavirus showed no sign of letting up, with the death toll in China rising to 900. In the last 24 hours, 97 people have died in China out of which 91 deaths were in Hubei province alone. Over 40,000 coronavirus cases have been reported in China until now.
Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi has written to Chinese President Xi Jinping and offered assistance on behalf of India. PM Modi has also expressed his condolences at the fatalities from the coronavirus in China.
Meanwhile, the test reports of 406 Indians who have returned from Wuhan have been found to be negative in Delhi. According to a report by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1.9 lakh passengers from 1818 flights had been screened at 21 airports in the country till Sunday. Also, 9452 people have been kept under surveillance in 32 states and union territories across India.
