COVID-19 Cases Cross 9-Lakh Mark; Pune, Bangalore Back In Lockdown Mode
The number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed the 9-lakh mark, after 28,498 new cases and 553 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest figures of the Health Ministry.
After the revised data, India’s death toll stands at 23,727.
With the rise in infections, the concerns have mounted in all the states. Lockdown has been imposed once again in worst-hit Maharashtra’s Pune. The lockdown, which started this morning, will be implemented in two phases and will last till July 18. Due to this, all shops are closed and police are strictly checking vehicles amid the lockdown.

Similarly, lockdown will be imposed in Karnataka's capital Bangalore from 8 pm on 14th July to 5 am on July 22. Last week, a two-day lockdown was announced in Uttar Pradesh.
